Okehampton
Centrally located in Devon, near the
highest point on Dartmoor, and about 25 miles west of Exeter, Okehampton
makes an excellent touring centre. Primarily a busy market town of
around 4000 people, it serves the surrounding farmland. Easily
accessible is the wild moorland scenery of the Dartmoor National park,
with its highest tors, Yes Tor and High Willhays, within walking
distance of Okehampton and there is some good trout fishing in the area.
